ILP "Participation" - Lynda.com Online Training

Image
For this ILP, I decided to check out the tutorials on Lynda.com. The options for tutorials are extensive on the site, so I spent some time searching around to find one that I wanted to complete. I have always had an interest in drawing and animating so when I saw that there were videos related to that, I was very interested. I decided on a tutorial titled 'Creating 2D Animation in Harmony'. This tutorial touched on the basics on animating and drawing 2 Dimensional works, while also giving some brief lessons on how to make the most of the animations, as well as different aspects of adjusting the newly created drawings. The creator of the video made it very easy for beginners and gave very clear and detailed instructions. Although I was unable to access the actual certificate for completion, I took a screenshot of the final page showing that I had finished the tutorial.

I think that the use of data collection, analysis, and organizing this information on Excel will all be useful skills that I will now have for my hopeful future as a teacher. Collecting data in ways such as the surveys that we did in this course will be very helpful. I think I will be able to use this as a way to collect information on my students, as I wish to teach high school or college, as well as use it as a fun way to test knowledge on topics before teaching it, such as by creating non-graded quizzes to complete before class. I have a professor now who using the submission of surveys on Qualtrics to take attendance for class, but also has questions regarding information from the lesson to further test knowledge as well, and considering that she is my history professor and that it what I want to teach, it gives me a good idea for the usage in the future. For using excel, I believe that the skills I will acquire from the lesson today on further operation of Excel, will help teach m

This design of having the lecture be provided as homework through various types of technology for the students to have had completely prior to class, while the class time would then be used to engage in further discovery of the context of the lesson. I really do think that the "flipped classroom" method is an extremely effective way to run a classroom. I believe that this is extremely effective because making more time for hands-on, interactive programs in the classroom with the teacher would provide stronger lessons for the students. TeacherTube is the perfect source for a wide variety of educational videos that teachers can use to provide as the lessons that they would assign as lessons. (I was not able to find which podcast this blog journal was referring to so I couldn't gather the information) The assignments have taught me so many new skills for using PowerPoint that I never even knew were possible to do. I was unaware about how to create actions to make the pr

There is a large variety of adaptive technologies available for the used of teachers, educators, workplaces, and other places where they would be helpful with dealing with people who have disabilities; in this case, students. Some examples of adaptive technologies available in schools are Digital recording softwares for recording lessons, which are helpful for students with learning disabilities, Zoomtext keyboards for the visually impaired, and Smartnav, for more physically impaired individuals. As discussed in the chapter and the podcast, these different adaptive technologies can be used to assist students by making their complications less debilitating in the classroom, maximizing their potential to learn for conforming to their specific disabilities, and providing them with the best opportunities to succeed. By law, it is required to accommodate people with disabilities, however, as educators, we want each and every student to succeed, regardless of the conditions. So by having the

I have enjoyed using twitter for this class. It has served as an easy way to communicate my thoughts about different assignments and topics from the class, as well as to see what kind of things my classmates are saying, as well. I have learned a lot of things from using twitter, especially from the pages that I have followed because I have read some amazing stories, seen good resources, and learned about a large variety different technologies. The benefits are that it's very quick and easy to use, as well as very easy to access for a large variety of students. I have not have any issues with twitter yet this year, other than I often forget to tweet for the class because it is such a small task to complete. Basically every aspect of the Web Design assignment was brand new to me. Some of the skills that I acquired during the process were linking calendars, creating a website in general, and a lot of organization skills. I specifically liked how easy it was to do on this site becaus

ILP "Design" - Prezi

I chose to make a Prezi presentation for my Independent Learning Project, so I picked the topic of how Alaska became a US state because it is something I am interested in and also it is relevant to topics I will most likely be teaching in the future as a Social Science teacher. Alaska: Becoming the 49th State *All information found in this Prezi was obtained from Alaska History on Wiki *

I went on the Florida State High School website to find class pages to view. It was very simple to access the list of class sites from the main page, where I was able to pick a department, and then choose a teacher within that department to view that specific page. Since I am a Pre-Social Science Education major, I chose the teacher who is the chair of the Social Studies department and who teaches classes that I am very interested in teaching. I chose the page for his  AP Human Geography  class, which he is teaching to high schoolers, since it is an introductory college-level class. On this page, it is possible to publicly view a brief description of the course, his class syllabus, guidelines, weekly overview, and overall class calendar. It is very easy to access and maneuver, and has all of the information that a student or parent would want to view. As an aspiring higher-age-level teacher, I envision myself using a lot of software in my classroom. Word processing software suc
