I really like how there are a large variety of Web 2.0 tools that are available for teacher's to use in the classroom and with their students. Personally, I believe that Twitter is a very useful tool for the classroom because it is easy to interact with their students and monitor what pages and topics they are tracking for educational purposes. I also think that it is convenient in this day in age because it is a medium that  lot of students are already actively using and involved in. I believe that this can benefit a teacher's professional development by expanding the medium because it creates a new connection between teacher and students and can focus on topics within the curriculum and avoid irrelevant information. I think that twitter is a very beneficial platform for people in any profession, as it allows simple communication and seemingly unlimited access to a variety of convenient sources. I have been able to view a lot of god information for this class though twitter, as well as be able to see how my fellow classmates are feeling about this course. I think this will help my future career because it will allow me to communicate with students, as well as transfer information on a platform that many young adults will be able to relate to. In a classroom that depends highly on technology, the digital divide may exemplify issues concerning students who do not have access to technology beyond the classroom. Personally, I feel more prepared towards Social Sciences than I do for teaching ELA, because technology in social studies can be much more interactive (maps) and creative than it can in ELA. However, if I were to pick an ELA technology that I feel most comfortable teaching, it would probably be writing because I feel like that is much easier to integrate the use of technology into with programs such as Microsoft Word. In the classroom, I would really like to use interactive programs and softwares to keep my students thoroughly active and engaged in each class. Examples of ones that I have used personally are Kahoot and Google Docs, as these allow for question responses, discussions, or other ways to stay actively participating. When it comes to digital citizenship, I will address issues such at "netiquette" by ensuring that students are using the programs kindly and properly by making sure most online work is done within the classroom. Throughout my high school career, Microsoft Word was essentially the holy grail of all things school-work related. Writing requirements were a part of the curriculum in every class at my high school, including math and science, so all of my teachers were very fond of this easy-to-access program that kept us all conveniently identical in the software we used. Therefore, I was always using MS Word for a variety of assignments, essays, short answer responses, short store, etc. Additionally, it was the go-to for lectures and sent-out information that all of my teachers used. One specific program that I was involved in while in high school was the Capstone program, which consisted of 2 classes (one per year) that were specifically geared towards research projects and research papers. Our topic (personally chosen) had to have extensive amounts of information about them. I have used copious amounts of technology in various educational environments throughout my life: interactive software videos audios hands-on activities etc Access to these different types of technology has always helped enhance and make my learning experiences much more effective. I did not always use a lot of technology within the classroom though, because I grew up in a small rural village in Alaska where advanced technology was not accessible. I hope to learn new skills for various forms of technology in this class, such as spreadsheets, and now the use of blogs. I have very limited experience with a lot of forms of technology, so I hope to expand on that knowledge and learn how to use them in my future classroom to make my teaching methods more effective, creative and modern. I did not really learn any new things about how I learn the best. I have always known I am a visual learner, so taking this questionnaire only reiterated that for me.
